Abstract: Blazars, gamma-ray bursts, and other transient phenomena are key extragalactic sources of very-high-energy gamma rays, probing black-hole accretion, particle acceleration, and explosion dynamics. LHAASO in China observes cosmic rays and gamma rays from a few hundred GeV to the PeV regime. Its Water Cherenkov Detector Array (WCDA) — wide field of view, high duty cycle, high sensitivity — is ideally suited to catching flares from such sources. This talk reviews the extragalactic sources seen by LHAASO-WCDA and presents a preliminary catalog, then discusses transient-event monitoring and analysis, with preliminary results.
CV:Dr.Min Zha received her Ph.D. from the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), CAS, in 1999. Following postdoctoral appointments at ICRR, University of Tokyo, and the University of Leeds, She joined IHEP as a research professor. Her research focuses on cosmic rays and high-energy gamma-ray astronomy, Over her career she has participated in four major international experiments: ARGO-YBJ, the Telescope Array (TA), the Pierre Auger Observatory (PAO), and LHAASO and currently coordinates data analysis for the LHAASO-WCDA experiment.
