一、岗位职责
1、在选定方向进行射电脉冲星相关研究,如高精度脉冲星计时,脉冲星计时阵探测低频引力波,脉冲星搜寻,脉冲星/磁星射电特征,脉冲星双星的引力检验等;
2、处理大型射电望远镜(如天马,FAST)脉冲星观测数据;
3、为工作及项目撰写相关论文;
二、基本条件
1、具有天体物理、天文技术与方法,或物理等相关专业博士学位;
2、具有射电脉冲星数据处理相关经验,并能熟练使用相关软件(如tempo2 ,Enterprise ,PSRChive ,presto ,PINT等)和相关编程语言(如python ,C/C++);
3、具有射电脉冲星和射电天文学基本知识;
4、具有独立开展科学研究的能力;
5、热爱科研工作,诚实可信,具有较强的责任心;
6、具有较强的团队协作和进取创新精神。

The division of Radio Astronomy Science and Technology at Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO) is currently seeking to fill one postdoctoral position in the field of pulsar astronomy. We encourage applications from observers, data analyst, and theoreticians in various aspects of pulsar science, including but not limited to precision radio pulsar timing, pulsar timing array and low-frequency gravitational wave detection, pulsar searching, pulsar / magnetar radio emission properties, test of gravity with binary pulsars and so forth.
The successful candidate will be able to take a lead on projects selected from the categories above based on personal interest, and analysing data collected with the largest radio telescopes on Earth such as FAST, ALMA, Effelsberg. If suited, the successful candidate will also be able to work in large international collaborations such as the International Pulsar Timing Array and the Event Horizon Telescope. In addition, the candidate will be encouraged to develop their own research projects in pulsar science and related fields. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of extension for up to three years, and the start date is flexible. The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and is highly competitive.
Applications should have a PhD degree in astronomy, astrophysics, physics or a closely related field. Demonstratable expertise in analysing pulsar data and using pulsar software (e.g., tempo2, Enterprise, PSRCHIVE, presto) is highly desirable. Fluency in commonly used programming languages (e.g., python, C/C++) is required. Possession of basic knowledge on radio pulsar observations and radio astronomy is encouraged.
SHAO hosts research teams of a large diversity, comprising both Chinese and international astronomers, astrophysicists, and technical staff, with over 50 faculty members, 30 technical engineering staff, 40 postdoctoral researchers, and 80 PhD students. As an integral part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, SHAO offers a vibrant research environment and access to state-of-the-art facilities such as LAMOST and FAST. Moreover, SHAO possesses its own dedicated facilities, including the 65-m Tianma radio telescope and advanced computational resources. SHAO is deeply involved in the SKA and CSST project.
