Dr. Mingyang Zhuang received his PhD in astronomy at Peking University in 2022. He is now a postdoctoral research fellow in University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has broad research interests, including galaxy formation and evolution, coevolution of supermassive black holes and their host galaxies, AGN feedback, and interstellar medium. He is experienced in data reduction and analysis including optical and near-infrared imaging, spectroscopy, and integral field spectroscopy.

报告简介

Abstract: The tight correlations between the masses of supermassive black holes (BHs) and the properties of their host galaxies suggest that BHs coevolve with galaxies. However, the link between BH mass and the properties of the host galaxies of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) in the nearby Universe remain elusive. In this talk, I will present our recent progress on the position of AGNs on the BH mass ? galaxy stellar mass plane, its connection with the properties of star formation and BH accretion, and its implications on AGN feedback. Moreover, I will introduce our recent works on host properties of X-ray selected AGNs at cosmic noon using JWST NIRCam imaging data.
