摘要:Fast radio bursts are an emerging field of fast radio transients. Their intrinsically coherent emission and extragalactic origins make them an idea candidate for probing the ionised medium located in the IGM and haloes of galaxies along the line of sight. In this talk, I present a suite of FRB modelling tools I have developed over the past years and results from applications. Originally designed for pipeline simulations, I will discuss our latest findings on characterising the performance and survey completeness of two mainstream FRB search pipelines. I will then give a short update on modelling complex structures in FRBs recently detected by the Australian SKA Pathfinder and MeerKAT.
个人简介:Hao Qiu is currently a postdoctoral fellow for transient science at the Square Kilometre Array Observatory(SKAO) in Jodrell Bank, UK. His current research focuses on detection and analysis methods for transient events such as Fast Radio Bursts. He is part of the science team at SKAO and is the contact for the SKA Transients Science Working Group. He received his PhD from the University of Sydney in 2021. He is a member of the Commensal Real-time ASKAP Fast Transients project and part of the team that received the 2020 Newcomb-Cleveland Prize for localising the first non-repeating Fast Radio Burst host galaxy. He is also part of the VAST collaboration for slow transients and variables with the Australian SKA Pathfinder. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Astronomy from the School of Astronomy and Space Science at Nanjing University in 2017 where he was awarded the department outstanding thesis.
