MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

1、 Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, planetary sciences or related fields completed or expected by effective date; no more than 3 years after awarded the Ph.D. diploma

2、 Age limited：no more than 35;

3、 A demonstrated record of research excellence, and potential to obtain external funding;

4、 Be in good health, behavior and morality;

3、 Two original recommendation letters either in Chinese or English issued by professors or scholars with equivalent academic titles (one is from the PhD supervisor)

4、 Curriculum vitae

5、 Copy of the title page of published academic papers, writing or art works including the abstract

6、 Copy of your regular passport

　　INTERVIEW OR QUALIFICATION EVALUATIONS？

When selected to be a candidate, you shall be asked to take an interview. If get informed, please prepare a presentation with a 30-45 minute slide to introduce yourself, your research achievements and your scientific future plan.

　　WHAT ARE SUPERVISORS SUPPOSED TO PREPARE FOR? （finish the interview in division or group, then submit the following documents）

1、 At least 5 copies of 《上海天文台博士后进站考核意见表》(from different professors, including one director of division, except the expected co-supervisor);

2、1 copy of《上海天文台博士后进站考核小组意见汇总表及考核小组评价意见表》;

3、1 copy of 《拟录用博士后进站申请表》;

You’re supposed to apply for an R-visa to Shanghai. 

Once accepted by SHAO, you should prepare to apply for the “APPLICATION FORM FOR HIGH LEVEL FOREIGN TALENT CONFIRMATION LETTER” documents at least 2 month in advance, which will be necessary for your visa application.
