Title: Probing the origin of cosmic rays with DAMPE

Abstract: Acting as one of the important cosmic messengers, energetic cosmic particles carry information about celestial bodies in extreme environments and can also serve as probes for new physics, such as dark matter. The origins, acceleration mechanisms, and propagation processes of these cosmic ray particles remain century-old unsolved mysteries. China's Dark Matter Particle Explorer satellite (DAMPE) can precisely measure the broad energy spectra of cosmic rays of primary and secondary species, offering crucial opportunities to resolve the century-long mystery of cosmic ray origins. This talk will introduce the recent progresses in cosmic ray studies with the DAMPE mission.
CV: Dr. Qiang Yuan is a professor at Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) in 2010. After that he conduct researches in high-energy astrophysics in IHEP and University of Massachusetts Amherst as postdoctoral fellows. He joined PMO since 2016. The main research interests include astroparticle physics and dark matter searches. He is a key member of the space mission DAMPE and the groundbased experiment LHAASO. He has published over 250 papers in peer review journals, with a citation over 10000.
