Abstract：

Gravitational wave astronomy enables deep insights into binary black holes across a wide mass range, contributing to our understanding of binary evolution, galaxy formation, and expansion history of the universe. This talk will highlight the detection prospects for space-based detectors in the millihertz band and pulsar timing arrays in the nanohertz band, focusing on signals from binary black holes at various evolutionary stages. I will also address key data analysis challenges in these frequency regimes, with emphasis on coherent network analysis, stochastic optimization, and hardware-accelerated computing techniques aimed at improving detection sensitivity and accuracy.

CV：

Yan Wang (王炎) received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Nanjing University in 2006 and 2011, respectively, and an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB). He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at UTB before joining the School of Physics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2014, where he is now a Professor. His research focuses on gravitational waves and relativistic astrophysics. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers and recently translated a textbook on gravitational waves into Chinese.
